How to update Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean XXAMC8 Official

Good news on our side again – and this time it is about the Galaxy Grand Duos I9082, which I am sure you shall be pleased to be informed that it can now be updated with the latest firmware of Jellybean XXAMC8 which comes in with the latest Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware. And this is not all – rumors have started to spread around the block claiming it will soon also be coming out with the Jellybean 4.2 update for Galaxy GRAND Duos i9082 and it’s only a matter of days apparently until this happens. Bearing this idea in mind, let’s just move on and check out how you can update your Galaxy GRAND Duos i9082 with the latest firmware of XXAMC8. It is first of all very important for you to know that this is the official firmware update released by Samsung and that you can therefore apply it without any restrictions any device across the globe. Do keep an eye on us as we will shortly also give to you posts with the custom ROM firmwares for your device which shall enable you to easily upgrade the firmware.

Truth be told, when it comes to an exact list of change log of this firmware, we do not have a definite answer, but we do know that there are some minor bug fixes which have been done in this version of firmware and developers have also taken their time to keep an eye on a series of other issues related to force close in Camera, so we can at least get that out of our mind.

As mentioned – this firmware XXAMC8 is the official firmware update released by Samsung, however we shouldn’t just relax with this and it’s highly recommended that you install the firmware after clean wiping the device. Make sure please that you do also backup all the data and in order to do so you can check out the below mentioned steps and do not apply this with the ROM Manager or KIES.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”

Now hoping that you have followed our piece of advice and that you have created a backup of all the data with the help of below mentioned steps, what you need to do now is simply turn Off your phone so that it can be entered in the Recovery Mode.

For your info – the Galaxy Grand Duos I9082 device can be entered into the recovery mode by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). Do make sure that while holding these both buttons, you also switch ON your device.

As soon as your device enters in recovery mode, you shall have to select options to clear and wipe the data present in your phone. Once the data is wiped, you shall need to go ahead with the next step and just select the option of “Reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.

Now by following the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” you shall enable the SUB Debugging Mode. In addition – you need to make sure that the minimum charge left in your phone is 40% or else there is a risk of device getting turned off in the middle of firmware update, and this is something you need to avoid.
